Festuca 'Kamalinskaya 95' is a perennial grass of the Festuca genus, widely used in both agriculture and landscape design. The plant reaches a height of 10 to 120 cm, has a dense drainage system, and is resistant to the cold climate of zone 5, allowing its use in northern regions. The leaves are rough or hairy, up to 1.5 cm wide, and often rolled along the plane.
In terms of agronomy, the variety is distinguished by high yield – up to 8–10 t/ha under optimal conditions – and high protein content (≈12–14 %). It is resistant to powdery rot, root rot, and fungal attacks, however it requires control over counts. Thermostability allows it to withstand low temperatures down to -10 °C, and the sowing period is 30–35 days after the start of spring.
For landscape use, 'Kamalinskaya 95' is suitable as a material for lawns and decorative mixes, and can be used as mulch to improve the soil. The plant prefers sunny places but tolerates partial shade; it grows on sandy, loam, and rocky soils with good drainage. Care for it is simple: remove withered leaves in spring and cut off mel after flowering. Thanks to its non-fruited nature and resistance to pollution, 'Kamalinskaya 95' is a reliable choice for pastures, hay meadows, and sports lawns.
