COLOSSOS

Festuca rubra rubra COLOSSOS – a highly valued variety recognized in Germany as a lawn for garden and sports fields. Medium green color, thin leaf density, but thinner than other red fescues. The variety requires low fertilizer input, saving costs on nitrogen fertilizers and reducing negative impact on the environment.

COLOSSOS is characterized by high disease resistance – red thread and fusarium. It has a deep underground root system that allows for rapid lawn recovery after damage. Uniform appearance, high density, and good durability make it suitable for a garden lawn.

As a fodder grass, COLOSSOS shows high yield (up to 12–15 t/ha under normal conditions, up to 18–20 t/ha under optimal). The plant reaches a height of 60–80 cm, has wide oval leaves and large light-yellow seeds. Protein content is 70–75%, and grain percentage is 25–30%. Fodder value is confirmed by high protein content (18–22%) and low carbohydrate composition. Due to resistance to powdery mildew, leaf rot, and Fusarium fungi, COLOSSOS ensures stable growth and good digestibility on pastures.
