Fescue PAVLOVSKAYA

Sustainable biomass yield for intensive livestock farming

Meadow fescue variety 'Pavlovskaya' is a strategic choice for agricultural enterprises focusing on long-term forage production. Developed by the Williams Federal Research Center, this variety is engineered for resilience, offering stable growth cycles and excellent post-harvest regeneration, which is vital for both grazing and haymaking.

Operational application in the field

The 'Pavlovskaya' variety is widely utilized in professional feed management systems under the following scenarios:

• Hay production: The variety produces a high volume of biomass that maintains high protein levels when dried, providing a nutritious base for winter rations.
• Rotational grazing: Due to its palatable, soft-textured leaves, livestock readily consume this grass, making it highly suitable for dairy and beef cattle pastures.
• Forage blends: It serves as an excellent structural component when mixed with legumes, strengthening the sward and ensuring a consistent forage supply over 5–7 years.

Agronomists favor this variety for its predictable response to nitrogen fertilization, allowing farm managers to fine-tune yield levels based on seasonal needs. Its early maturity helps bridge the spring forage gap, significantly reducing dependency on expensive commercial concentrates during the transition period.
