Wheat variety "Tobolskaya" is a soft spring wheat of medium-late maturity, bred by Russian breeders of the agro-holding "Kurgansemena". This variety belongs to the steppe ecotype and is characterized by a prolonged period from germination to heading, allowing for effective use of rainfall in the second half of summer. The vegetative period ranges from 78 to 100 days, and plant height reaches 95-105 cm. The plant is medium-sized, with a semi-erect bush and a powerful root system, contributing to good resistance to lodging and drought. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 33 to 45 grams, the grain is colored, and the head is pyramidal of medium density with white coloration. The variety "Tobolskaya" is distinguished by high yield, averaging 16.1-22.4 c/ha in the Ural and West Siberian regions, with potential yield exceeding 70 c/ha. Maximum yield indicators were recorded at 51.2 c/ha. The variety is resistant to heat and drought, exceeding standards for drought resistance by approximately 1 point. It also has moderate resistance to a range of diseases, including bunt, brown rust, and septoria, but is susceptible to powdery mildew and root rot. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including the Republic of Bashkortostan, Omsk, Kurgan, and Chelyabinsk regions, and the Altai Krai. Baking and milling qualities of the "Tobolskaya" variety are assessed as good, making it valuable for producing high-quality flour and bakery products. Raw gluten content is 34-35%, and grain natural density is in the range of 760-800 g/L, indicating high grain quality. Waxy bloom on the head and straw helps protect the plant, and the pyramidal head shape with awn-like appendages of medium length gives the variety a distinctive appearance. The pedigree of the variety includes lines Lutescence 123/c and Omsk 20, confirming its breeding origin and adaptation to steppe region conditions.
