Tulaikovskaya 108 — a medium-maturing and medium-heighting type of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), recommended for cultivation in the Middle Volga region, including the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Mordovia, and Samara Oblast. The vegetative period is 74-85 days, allowing the variety to ripen simultaneously with Kinel'skaya niv and slightly later than Tulaikovskaya 10. The plant is semi-erect, with a pyramidal spike of medium density and white grain color. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 32 to 38 grams, indicating the large-grained nature of the variety.
The variety is characterized by high drought resistance, corresponding to or exceeding standard indicators, as well as moderate resistance to lodging. Under field conditions, Tulaikovskaya 108 shows moderate resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew, but is susceptible to powdery and solid head smut. Average yield in the region is about 23.9-27.6 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 55 c/ha, which significantly exceeds the average standards and indicates the high productivity of the variety.
Special attention is paid to the baking qualities of the wheat: the variety has excellent indicators, with gluten content up to 36.9% and protein up to 14.2%. This makes Tulaikovskaya 108 in demand for the production of high-quality flour and bakery products. Due to its agronomic characteristics and quality indicators, the variety is a strong and reliable crop for cultivation under the conditions of the Middle Volga region.
