Soft spring wheat variety Swirel is a medium-late variety with a vegetation period of 90-97 days, ripening a few days later than the Omskaya 33 variety. The plant is of medium height with a semi-upright bush and weak straw. The ear is pyramid-shaped, of medium density, with a strong waxy coating and white color. The grain is colored, the mass of 1000 grains is 37-43 grams, which indicates good grain quality suitable for cereal crops and industrial use.
The Swirel variety differs in high yield, reaching up to 21.4 centners per hectare in some regions, as well as resistance to lodging and moderate drought resistance, which allows successful cultivation in various climatic conditions. Despite this, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as septoria, hard smut, powdery mildew, root rots, and brown rust, which requires careful approach to plant protection.
This variety was created as a result of breeding work by the Krasnoyarsk Research Institute of Agriculture and is characterized by improved productivity indicators and grain quality, meeting modern requirements. Swirel is a reliable choice for farmers seeking to obtain a stable and high yield of soft spring wheat with good technological characteristics.
