KWS JETSTREAM is a mid-season variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), developed by German breeders of KWS SAAT SE. It is characterized by its short stature and high yield potential, reaching up to 90 ц/ha. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 44 grams, indicating the grain's size and high product quality. The vegetative period is 77-89 days, allowing for effective use of the variety in various climatic conditions, including continental climates.
The variety exhibits high resistance to a range of diseases, such as powdery mildew, solid stem rust, fusarium head blight, septoria, and brown rust, and also demonstrates good drought resistance. However, the variety is susceptible to root rots, stem rust, and powdery mildew. Thanks to these characteristics, KWS JETSTREAM is suitable for cultivation in regions with various climatic conditions, including the Western Siberian region and some areas of Kazakhstan.
The grain of the variety belongs to class 3 and higher, differs in high content of crude protein (14-16%) and crude gluten (more than 28%), as well as high falling number (more than 200 s/kg), which ensures excellent bread-making qualities. The grain natural density is 766-827 g/l. The recommended sowing rate is 4.5-6 million seeds per hectare, with an optimal planting depth of 3-5 cm. High tillering intensity and lodging resistance make this variety attractive for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality harvest.
