GERACL is a variety of soft spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) of medium maturity, developed by FGBNU «OMSK AGRARIAN RESEARCH CENTER». It is characterized by high potential yield and is intended for the production of semolina. The maturity period ranges from 78 to 95 days, making it optimal for cultivation in regions with a temperate climate. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 32 to 42 grams, indicating the variety's large-grained nature.
The plant is of medium length, reaching a height of 105-110 cm, with a semi-erect bush and weak straw. The ear is cylindrical, loose, of medium density, white in color with short awn-like appendages at the end. The grain is colored, and the ear shoulder is rounded and of medium width. The variety is resistant to lodging, which helps preserve the crop and facilitates harvesting. There is a weak waxy coating on the ear, and medium on the upper internode of the straw and the sheath of the flag leaf.
GERACL has moderate drought resistance and moderate susceptibility to powdery mildew and septoria. However, the variety is susceptible to powdery and solid bunt, root rots, and brown rust, which requires the implementation of preventive agro-technical measures. The average yield in the region of introduction is about 23.7 centners per hectare. The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Kurgan region and is suitable for the conditions of the Urals.
