The 'Moscow 70' wheat variety represents a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) with a medium-early maturity period. This variety is distinguished by its high winter hardiness and resistance to lodging, ensuring reliable overwintering and harvest preservation. The 1000-kernel mass ranges from 34 to 55 grams, depending on growing conditions, while the vegetative period lasts approximately 309–324 days. The plant features short stalks 73-105 cm tall and a dense, awnless head of medium length containing 14-16 spikelets and 27-30 grains, contributing to the crop's high productivity. Moscow 70 is adapted for cultivation in various soil and climatic conditions, including fertilized non-fallow and semi-fallow predecessors, medium-intensity and extensive technologies, as well as saline soils. The variety demonstrates good drought resistance and plasticity, allowing for stable yields even under challenging conditions. Average regional yield is between 22.6 and 32.1 c/ha with standard technologies and can reach 100–117 c/ha with intensive cultivation. The variety exhibits high resistance to brown rust and powdery mildew, although it is moderately susceptible to root rots, snow mold, and Septoria. Moscow 70 is valued for its excellent baking qualities: the grain is large and glassy with a weight of 810 g/L, gluten content in flour reaches 34.7%, and protein content in the grain is up to 15%. These characteristics make the variety in-demand for producing quality flour and bakery products, combining high productivity with economic efficiency.
