MOSCOW 40

Moscow 40 is a soft winter wheat variety bred based on the Moscow 39 variety. It belongs to medium-early maturing varieties with a growing period of 271 to 319 days and is characterized by a short, low-growing plant with a height of 73 to 98 cm. The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and root sprouting, ensuring reliable harvest even under complex climatic conditions. The variety's winter hardiness is above average, making it particularly suitable for cultivation in central regions of Russia, including the Tula region.

Wheat Moscow 40 is distinguished by its excellent baking qualities: protein content in the grain reaches 15-17%, while gluten content goes up to 42%. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 37 to 48 grams, indicating high grain quality. The variety demonstrates high yield, exceeding the original lines by 2.5–3 centners per hectare, making it advantageous for agrarians due to the combination of low production costs and excellent technological flour characteristics.
