CHEKUROV MEMORIAL

Chekurov Memorial is a soft winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety characterized by a medium to medium-late vegetation period, ranging from 295 to 329 days depending on the growing region. Plants have a medium height of 71 to 108 cm, with a cylindrical white ear of medium length and density. The mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 38 to 54 grams; the grain is large and red, indicating high-quality raw material. The variety belongs to the velutinum and lutescens types, which influence its morphological and biological properties.

The variety has medium winter hardiness and frost resistance, requiring climatic conditions to be taken into account during cultivation. Lodging resistance is at a good level, which helps preserve the yield and facilitates harvesting. Chekurov Memorial demonstrates high yield: average figures reach 27.5-43.5 c/ha, while maximum yields can exceed 5.8 t/ha and even 7.7 t/ha under favorable conditions. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Western Siberia and Northwestern Russia, confirming its adaptability.

Baking qualities of the variety are rated from satisfactory to good, making it valuable for producing quality flour. Gluten content reaches 24%, while crude protein content is about 14%, providing good technological properties of the grain. Additionally, the variety has increased resistance to brown rust and medium resistance to fusarium and yellow rust, which reduces the risk of yield losses due to diseases and enhances production stability.
