An intensive winter wheat variety with a yield potential of up to 10 t/ha and high disease resistance.
Description
A Breeding Breakthrough from the Yuriev Institute
The winter wheat variety "Yednannia," officially registered in Ukraine in 2025, is the result of years of dedicated work by breeders at the V.Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production of the NAAS. Developed through complex hybridization, this variety addresses the agricultural demand for high-intensity crops capable of consistent performance across diverse climatic conditions.
Adaptability and Yield Potential
"Yednannia" is an intensive-type variety that demonstrates exceptional plasticity. It is successfully zoned for cultivation across all key agro-climatic regions of Ukraine: the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia. This broad geographic suitability is driven by its robust genetic potential: under optimal cultivation practices, the variety can achieve yields of 9.5–10.0 t/ha.
Agronomic Profile
The plant's morphology reflects its "steppe" ecotype: a long stem with a pronounced waxy bloom on the upper internode and a powerful pyramidal ear. A key feature is its high resistance to lodging (8–9 points), which is critical for securing high-quality grain in intensive farming systems. As a mid-early variety, it efficiently utilizes spring moisture for optimal development.
- Crop Health: High genetic resistance to powdery mildew and brown rust reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications.
- Grain Quality: Classified as a valuable wheat variety for grain production, it features large red kernels with excellent test weight characteristics.
- Morphology: The plant exhibits a semi-erect habit, an awned ear of medium density, and moderate node pubescence, contributing to better overwintering and early spring growth.
"Yednannia" is the choice for farms focused on maximizing returns per hectare while maintaining high crop reliability in the face of changing climatic realities.

Dual-purpose hybrids: for silage and grain in all growing regions. These are "stay-green" type hybrids, meaning the plants remain green for a longer period. However, this does not affect the sugar, cellulose, and hemicellulose content, nor the degree of lignification of the plant... |
