Winter wheat "Istina Odessa" is a high-yielding grain variety developed by the Selection-Genetic Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine in Odessa. This variety belongs to the medium-early maturity group with a vegetation period of approximately 280-284 days. Plant height varies from 78.6 to 98 cm, providing good resistance to lodging and contributing to high yields, reaching 110-125 c/ha or 7.8 t/ha under optimal growing conditions.
"Istina Odessa" is characterized by high resistance to various adverse factors, including drought, grain shattering, and several diseases: root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew. The variety responds well to nitrogen fertilization, allowing for improved quality and quantity of the harvest. The 1000-grain weight is 42-45 g, and the protein content in the grain ranges from 13.2-14.6%, making it attractive for producing high-quality flour.
Recommended for planting in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. Sowing rate is 4.5-5.0 million viable seeds per hectare.
