Description
Winter wheat variety Lavall is a semi-intensive and intensive variety with high yield potential, reaching up to 12 tons per hectare. The stem height is approximately 80 cm, spike length is 12 cm, and 1000-grain weight is 44 grams. The test weight of grain equals 845 g/l, indicating high seed quality. Protein content in the grain ranges from 13.5 to 14.1%, and gluten content is between 27.0-30.0%, ensuring excellent baking properties and loaf volume up to 710 ml.
Lavall variety is characterized by high resistance to major wheat diseases, including rust (stripe and stem rust), powdery mildew, brown and yellow rust, and leaf septoria, with resistance ratings ranging from 8.2 to 9.0 points. Additionally, the variety shows high resistance to lodging and drought (up to 9.0 points), as well as good winter hardiness (8.0-9.0 points). These features make Lavall a reliable choice for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones.
Recommended seeding rate is 4.5-5 million seeds per hectare. It is best to sow Lavall after crops such as pea, soybean, chickpea, early corn, and sunflower, which helps maximize yield and grain quality. The variety is registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2020 and is widely used for producing flour, bread, and other food products due to its stability and excellent taste qualities.
