Winter wheat variety Verden is a versatile variety characterized by high yield up to 9.8 tons per hectare and a long vegetation period of 278 days. The plant reaches a stem height of about 95 cm, and the spike length is approximately 10.8 cm. The thousand-grain weight is 42 grams, indicating good seed quality. The protein content in the grain ranges from 13.7–14.2%, and the gluten content is 27.7%, providing excellent baking properties with a score of 9.0 and a loaf volume of about 630 ml.

The Verden variety exhibits high resistance to various diseases, including powdery mildew, rust (both brown and yellow), septoria leaf blotch, and fusarium head blight. Resistance to these diseases is rated between 8.0 and 9.0, making this variety a reliable choice for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. Additionally, the wheat has enhanced drought tolerance and is not prone to lodging, which contributes to stable high yields even under adverse climatic conditions.

It is recommended to sow Verden wheat after predecessors such as soybean, pea, corn, sunflower, and buckwheat. The optimal seeding density is 4.5–5 million seeds per hectare. The variety adapts well to Ukrainian soils and exhibits good germination, making it a universal and profitable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality and high-yield grain.
