Winter wheat Lazurna is a medium-maturing variety of grain wheat developed in Ukraine and registered in 2011. It is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie regions. The variety is characterized by a spike type and medium-height plants (91-94 cm) with high resistance to lodging and shattering. The vegetation period is 269-280 days, ensuring stable grain ripening at optimal times. Lazurna exhibits high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it a reliable choice for intensive cultivation on fertile mineral soils. The variety has moderate resistance to diseases, including root rot, septoria, fusarium, brown rust, and powdery mildew, as well as pests. Thanks to these qualities, wheat Lazurna demonstrates high and stable yields, reaching a potential of up to 10.8 tons per hectare. The grain of Lazurna is valued for its high quality: protein content is 14.5-15.3%, and thousand-grain weight is 36-38 grams. It possesses good baking and milling properties, making the variety valuable for producing high-quality flour. To achieve maximum yield and improve grain quality, it is recommended to apply nitrogen fertilizers during the heading and milk ripening stages, as well as regular protection against diseases and pests.
