Kuyalnik — a high-yielding variety of winter soft wheat of extra-strong type, recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including the steppe zone, forest-steppe, and Polissia. This medium-early variety is characterized by high drought and heat resistance, as well as cold tolerance, ensuring stable productivity even under adverse climatic conditions. Kuyalnik responds well to nitrogen fertilizers and is suitable for cultivation following good predecessors, making it a versatile choice for different agro-ecosystems.
The variety exhibits high resistance to major wheat diseases such as yellow rust, septoria, powdery mildew, and moderate resistance to downy mildew, brown rust, hard head, and Fusarium ear rot. This ensures crop preservation and high grain quality. The thousand-grain weight is 40–42 grams, plant height — 92–96 cm, which contributes to good yield and ease of harvest.
The grain quality of Kuyalnik meets the requirements of premium soft wheat varieties: protein content ranges from 13.0 to 13.7%, gluten content — from 27.5 to 28.7%. Dough strength reaches 460–510 arbitrary units, ensuring high baking quality rated at 5.0 points. The potential productivity of the variety reaches 10.8 t/ha at a seeding rate of 4.5–5.5 million seeds per hectare. Thanks to these characteristics, Kuyalnik is one of the most productive and high-quality wheat varieties suitable for producing high-quality food grain.
