DN Rava

DN Rava is a simple, late-maturing, tall hybrid sweet corn with FAO 500, developed for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. It is intended for both grain and silage production, making it a versatile choice for agricultural producers. Plants reach a height of 280–300 cm, with ears attached at 100–110 cm. The ear has a conical-cylindrical shape, 24–26 cm long, with 18–22 rows of kernels, 45–50 kernels per row, yielding 84% grain. The kernels are dent-shaped and yellow, with a 1000-kernel weight of 290–300 g. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to adverse weather conditions, due to its remontant type. It also shows high resistance to lodging and stem breakage, including during the rest period, ensuring crop preservation. Resistance to major diseases and pests is rated 8 out of 9, significantly reducing yield loss risks. Potential grain yield reaches up to 170 c/ha, and silage yield up to 70 t/ha, making DN Rava a high-yielding hybrid under conventional cultivation. Optimal plant density at harvest varies by region and growing conditions: in steppe areas — 35–40 thousand plants per hectare (55–60 thousand under irrigation), in forest-steppe areas — 55–60 thousand plants per hectare for silage purposes. The hybrid was selected by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine, guaranteeing its adaptation to local climatic conditions and agronomic requirements. DN Rava is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high and stable yields of grain and silage under challenging natural conditions.
