Vicia "Oziyana" is a hybrid variety developed in Ukraine, intended for cultivation in the central region of the country, including the Forest-Steppe and Polesie zones. The variety belongs to the medium-maturity group and is characterized by high resistance to various diseases, such as Fusarium and rust, as well as adverse climatic conditions – it is capable of quickly recovering from stress, demonstrating good tolerance to moisture, drought, and over-wetting.
The variety's vegetative period is 120–130 days. Under optimal agronomic conditions, yield reaches 2.5 to 3.0 tons of dry mass per hectare, and under more favorable climatic conditions – up to 6.0–8.0 tons of dry vicia biomass and 28–42 tons of green mass. Seed yield fluctuates from 2.2 to 2.9 tons per hectare, and protein content in the grain is 22–24%. These indicators make "Oziyana" attractive both for feed production and for food purposes.
For successful cultivation of the variety, regular watering and fertilization are required, especially during periods of active growth. It is recommended to sow it under conditions of good lighting and humidity, which ensures maximum yield and high product quality. Thanks to its characteristics, "Oziyana" can be integrated into comprehensive agronomic plans, ensuring stable income for farmers and meeting the agricultural needs of the country.
