Vetch Oziyana

Optimizing Feed Quality: The 'Oziryana' Vetch Experience

For farm managers balancing feed quality with operational reliability, the Ukrainian-bred 'Oziryana' vetch is a standard-setting choice. Developed by the Institute of Sugar Beets of the UAAS, this variety offers a predictable 110–130 day vegetation cycle, allowing for precise integration into existing forage calendars and crop rotation schedules.

Field Performance and Maintenance

In terms of daily field operations, the 'Oziryana' variety stands out for its robust resistance to Fusarium. While many varieties struggle with fungal pressure in moist conditions, 'Oziryana' maintains stand integrity, simplifying the mechanical harvest process. The variety is highly adaptable to local soil conditions, reducing the need for intensive chemical inputs and minimizing the risk of crop failure.

Economic and Nutritional Profile

• Protein density: With a protein content of 20–24%, it functions as an essential component for high-performance livestock diets.
• Harvest efficiency: The uniform growth habit allows for consistent cutter bar performance and efficient biomass throughput during baling or ensiling.
• Operational economy: Excellent soil cover capability suppresses weed competition naturally, lowering herbicide expenditure and field preparation costs.

Choosing 'Oziryana' means investing in a resilient, high-output variety that delivers predictable, nutrient-dense forage with minimal maintenance, proving its value through consistent performance season after season.
