Vetch Hybrid 97

Focus on Fodder Reliability: The "Hybrid 97" Vetch

For agricultural producers focusing on intensive livestock farming, selecting the right vetch variety is decisive for both green mass yield and fodder chain stability. "Hybrid 97," developed by the Poltava V.Ya. Yuryev Institute of Plant Production, serves as a robust tool for farms prioritizing harvest timing and pathogen resistance.

Operational Scenarios in Farming

• Green Conveyor Optimization: With a 90–110 day vegetation period, this variety fits perfectly into early fodder supply schedules. It allows farmers to reliably cover protein deficits in cattle diets during critical windows.
• Natural Defense Against Pathogens: Fusarium and powdery mildew often compromise vetch yields. The genetic resistance of "Hybrid 97" significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, lowering the production cost per ton of fodder while ensuring cleaner forage.
• Soil Health and Rotation: As a legume, this variety is an excellent precursor, contributing to biological nitrogen fixation and improving overall soil structure before winter crops.

Practical experience confirms that this variety minimizes crop losses during high-humidity seasons, when fungal risks typically escalate. It is a dependable choice for those looking to avoid the uncertainties of varying phytosanitary conditions and unpredictable weather patterns.
