Vica Hybrid 97 is a spring vetch variety developed for high yield and resilience to various growing conditions. The crop is characterized by a pod with a pointed, curved tip and has a medium-protein grain composition. The vegetative period lasts 100–110 days, and the maximum green mass yield reaches 303 t/ha, while seed yield reaches 20.8 t/ha.
The variety grows well on medium and heavy mechanical soils, including poor unstructured soils. It demonstrates sufficient resistance to limited moisture and is suitable for cultivation in forest-steppe, Polissia, and steppe regions of Ukraine. High germination (over 90%) allows for sowing it with corn seeders at a rate of 70–80 kg/ha.
Vica Hybrid 97 is ideal for feed purposes: oat mixtures with oats in a ratio of 1.5–2.0 + 1.5–2.0 million viable seeds/ha, as well as independent feed without crop support. The variety is resistant to Fusarium and powdery mildew, responds well to mineral nutrition, and can be grown in dry and moderate climates.
