Lucerne Key II

Efficiency in Harvesting and Feed Quality

The "Kay II" alfalfa, a German-bred variety officially registered in Ukraine in 2025, is designed to build a highly productive forage base. The primary purpose of this variety is to achieve stable yields of green mass, which is ideal for both direct feeding and intensive processing.

Processing and Storage Technology

The key advantage of "Kay II" lies in its rapid regrowth after cutting, allowing farmers to schedule haylage or hay harvesting with minimal nutrient loss. The leaf mass of this variety is characterized by high density, which is critical for maintaining leaf integrity during mechanized harvesting. During drying and baling, "Kay II" demonstrates excellent transportability: low leaf fragility ensures that the maximum amount of protein is retained in the final product reaching the animal's trough.

Marketability and Nutritional Value

For farms selling forage, "Kay II" is a profitable solution due to the attractive marketability of the hay. The deep green color, which persists even after long-term storage, indicates a high carotene content and the absence of spoilage. The variety forms stems of optimal thickness that do not become coarse too quickly, extending the optimal harvesting window without losing feed units. This makes "Kay II" a reliable tool for ensuring a balanced diet for dairy and beef cattle throughout the year.
