Vetch Nadezhda

Agrotechnical profile

The "Nadezhda" common vetch variety is a product of the Siberian Federal Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology (SFNCA RAS). The variety is optimized for harsh climatic conditions, which defines its core value: high plasticity and reliability when cultivated in regions with risky agriculture.

Technological features

• Sowing dates: Early spring. The variety demonstrates high germination energy, allowing for the maximum efficient use of moisture accumulated in the soil after snowmelt.
• Morphological indicators: A pulse crop with a robust stem structure. The breeder focused on lodging resistance, which is critical for mechanized harvesting and reducing losses during combine operations.
• Biological productivity: The high protein content in both green mass and seeds makes this variety a sought-after component for forage production. The crop efficiently fixes atmospheric nitrogen, allowing for a reduction in nitrogen fertilizer rates for subsequent crops in the rotation.

Practical application

"Nadezhda" is an asset for intensive livestock farming. When sown in early spring, the variety develops a dense canopy, effectively suppressing weed growth during early stages of vegetation. Incorporating this variety into the planting structure allows for the balancing of protein-rich rations, ensuring stable performance even in years with erratic temperature patterns.
