Description BUGOVSKAYA 2
Vetcha «Bugovskaya 2» is a winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) developed in Russia under the code «Bugovskaya 2». The plant reaches a height of 100–110 cm, has dense stems and large white grains of medium density. Protein content is 12‑13 %, and crude protein in dry matter is about 20.5 %. Due to these characteristics, the grain is easily processed at mills and suitable for both bread and cereal production as well as for feed use.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to various agro-nomical stresses: soil rot, powdery mildew (rust), powdery fungus, «dusty» disease, and also shows good tolerance to drought and cold. During the winter period, the plant slows down growth, which ensures high winter hardiness up to 90 %. In spring «Bugovskaya 2» demonstrates intensive growth rates, and secondary branching is observed in the upper third of the plant, increasing yield.

Grain yield reaches 8–9 t/ha under optimal conditions and can reach up to 10 t/ha in favorable areas. Average yield of green mass is 24.4 t/ha, dry matter – 5.2 t/ha, and seeds – 0.9 t/ha; under maximum conditions, collection can reach 6.7 t/ha of dry matter and 1.5 t/ha of seeds. The variety is suitable for early spring green fodder and feed, applicable in all regions due to its competitive ability in agrophytocenosis and increased resistance to spring flooding. Grain storage life is 6–12 months at temperatures up to +5 °C.
