Description ALISA
Sudan grass (Sorghum xdrummondii) – an annual grass grown as a feed crop for cattle and small livestock. It has a mild taste and pleasant aroma, making it popular with cows, horses, sheep, and other animals.

The crop is characterized by high green mass yield: an average of 44 t/ha over two cuts, and up to over 1000 centners per hectare under optimal conditions. The stem is long, leaves are medium-length and narrow, and the core is dry at maturity. The bush is upright and moderately bushy.

Sudan grass is used as fresh green mass, as well as for producing silage, hay, and haylage. Due to good digestibility, it contains a significant amount of sugars, proteins, ash, vitamins, and minerals, ensuring full nutrition for animals.

The crop is drought-tolerant, resistant to headhoppers and aphids, and withstands multiple cuts during the year. Seeds are elongated and brown in color; the mass of 1000 seeds is about 15.4 g. Thanks to these characteristics, Sudan grass is a reliable source of feed mass for farm enterprises.
