Sudan grass "Luninskaya" – an annual grass grown as a fodder crop for large and small livestock. It is distinguished by its mild taste, pleasant aroma, and high content of nutrients: sugars, proteins, ash, vitamins, and minerals, making it a valuable source of energy and protein for cows, horses, sheep, and other animals.
When harvested for seeds, the vegetation height reaches 187 cm, and plant foliage coverage is 57.8 %. The average yield of dry matter is 8.65 t/ha, and seeds – 1.43 t/ha. The grass silages well and does not lodge, which allows it to be used as an insurance crop in dry years, supplementing moisture-loving perennial grasses.
The "Luninskaya" variety has a high content of carbohydrates and is resistant to diseases and pests. In one summer, up to five cuts can be made, and more than 1000 centners of grass can be harvested from one hectare, making it an efficient source of fodder mass for farm enterprises.
