SARATOVSKAYA 1183

Sudan grass variety «Saratovskaya 1183» is an annual crop belonging to the sorghum genus and the grass family. The bush is upright with medium branching; plant height ranges from 130 to 160 cm, reaching up to 260 cm under favorable conditions. Leaves are linear, large, and juicy, arranged alternately, ensuring good photosynthetic activity.

The variety is characterized by high seed yield – 16–18 centners per hectare. Seeds are oval-elliptical, membranous, dark brown (partially black and red), and large in size; the mass of 1000 grains is 12–15 g. Crude protein content averages 9.01%, while fiber content is 26.63%. The panicle is loosely branching and hairless, with a length of 20–35 cm.

The growth period from germination to heading is 45–48 days, after which seeds mature in 42–48 days. They are ready for harvest in the third decade of August or the first decade of September. The variety is resistant to lodging and provides stable seed and fodder productivity with good green mass quality.
