Sudan grass VOLOGRADOVSKAYA 77

Field Performance: Getting the Most from Volgogradskaya 77

When dealing with Sudan grass, the ability to withstand multiple cuts and keep yields consistent is what matters most to an operator. Developed by the FGBNU Federal Research Center for Agroecology, Volgogradskaya 77 is built for field endurance. Its standout feature for farm management is its strong resistance to the Swedish fly, which eliminates the need for extra pesticide applications and extra equipment hours.

Key Operational Stats

• Yield Potential: Delivers a solid 6–8 tons of hay per hectare under standard management.
• Harvest Cycles: Capable of producing up to 4 cuts per season, allowing for an efficient forage production schedule.
• Versatility: Acts as an all-in-one solution for green fodder, high-quality hay, and silage.

Maintenance and Efficiency

For an owner, this variety simplifies the logistics of the harvest season. The rapid regrowth rate after each cut minimizes downtime and allows for precise planning of machinery use. Because the crop effectively resists the Swedish fly, you save on chemical costs and reduce the wear on sprayer equipment. It is a highly predictable variety: you get a consistent, reliable feed source without the typical crop failures that come with pest damage. Volgogradskaya 77 is designed for those who value efficiency, steady output, and a straightforward approach to forage management.
