CHARODEYKA

Sudan grass «Charodeyka» – an annual tall grass plant from the Grass family, reaching up to 250 cm in height and possessing a deeply penetrating root system. The variety is characterized by early maturation and the ability to yield several cuts per season: typically 2–4 cuts with proper management. The first cut is made 65–70 days after sowing, the second – 40–45 days later, and the third – 30 days later, allowing to obtain a rich green mass throughout the entire vegetation period of up to 120 days.

«Charodeyka» is distinguished by high productivity and resistance to adverse climatic conditions. The plant is unpretentious to weather, recovers quickly after cutting, and maintains high yield even under drought conditions. During the stage from stem extension to heading, maximum protein content is achieved – about 11% in green mass, which makes hay from this grass one of the best protein sources among grass crops.

The nutritional value of «Charodeyka» is high: it is rich in vitamins A and group B (B1, B2, B6), carotene, as well as trace elements Fe, Mg, Zn, Mn and K. The energy value of hay is approximately 52 GE per kilogram, which is comparable to young corn silage. Green mass yield can reach from 152 to 250 centners per hectare, and dry matter content in the harvest is about 29.6%. Thanks to these characteristics, the variety «Charodeyka» is widely used for feeding livestock, including pigs, and provides quality nutrition with high productive performance.
