Description SEMI-SUGAR ROSE
Feed beet of the SEMI-SUGAR ROSE variety is a medium-late high-yielding variety with oval-cylindrical or conical root crops, which partially protrude above the soil surface by one third or half their length. The skin of the root crops is predominantly white with a pinkish head, while the flesh is dense and white with high sugar and dry matter content. This variety is characterized by good storability and resistance to diseases such as cercosporosis and shatter, ensuring crop preservation during storage and reducing nutrient losses. The plant is distinguished by rapid growth of roots and leaves, as well as the absence of lateral branches of root crops, which facilitates harvesting both manually and mechanized. Root crops are immersed in the soil by about 50-60%, which contributes to the convenience of harvesting. The variety is unpretentious to soil composition, has drought resistance, and responds positively to top dressing and quality agrotechnology, allowing high yields - up to 120-140 tons per hectare. Sowing is carried out in May at a depth of about 3 cm with a row spacing of 45 cm and plant spacing of 10 cm. The vegetative period is approximately 145 days. Harvesting of root crops is recommended to be carried out before the onset of frost, and they should be stored in cool rooms at temperatures from 0 to 3-4 °C, in piles or storage facilities to maximize the preservation of nutritional properties and prevent leaf regrowth. Thanks to these characteristics, the SEMI-SUGAR ROSE variety is a reliable and effective choice for feed production.
