Description VORONEZHSKAYA 24
The VORONEZHSKAYA 24 variety is a Sudan grass developed at Voronezh State Agrarian University. Plants reach a height of 145 to 220 cm, typically 130–165 cm at the first mowing and 90–100 cm at the second. Bushiness is moderate, ensuring good structure of stems and leaves.

The forage properties of this variety surpass most grasses. Protein content in hay ranges from 13.0% to 14.1%, and sugars from 13.5% to 15.6%. This makes it a valuable source of digestible protein for cattle, sheep, and horses. The high ash content in hay (≈52 feed units per 100 kg) indicates high nutritional value.

The variety is characterized by resistance to lodging and high drought tolerance, allowing for harvest even under unfavorable climatic conditions. Green mass yield is high – from 375 to 560 centners per hectare. For hay, the optimal sowing rate is 70–100 kg/ha, and for seed sowing – 25–35 kg/ha.

VORONEZHSKAYA 24 is also well suited for silage; its silage has nutritional value comparable to corn silage harvested at milk-waxy maturity. Due to good cutting ability and straw-like discoloration of stems, this variety is easy to lay down and store.

Thus, VORONEZHSKAYA 24 is a highly productive, nutritious, and drought-resistant Sudan grass variety suitable for both hay and silage.
