EVGENIYA

The potato variety Evgeniya is a medium-early table-type variety of Russian selection with a vegetation period of 65 to 80 days. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type with semi-erect form, has medium-sized green leaves with strong wavy edges and large red-purple flower. Tubers are oval, with small eyes, smooth red skin and creamy flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 79 to 161 grams, and starch content is from 16.3 to 21.4%, making this variety suitable for various cooking methods, including baking, boiling and making mashed potatoes, as well as for processing into potato products.

The yield of the Evgeniya variety is high, ranging from 158 to 262 centners per hectare, with maximum yield reaching 349 centners per hectare, which is 52 centners higher than the standard Nevsky. Tubers' marketability ranges from 79 to 95%, and storability is 92%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. The number of tubers per plant varies from 6 to 10, contributing to stable and high yield.

The variety shows resistance to potato late blight pathogen (pathotype I), but is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately susceptible to phytophthora blight of foliage and tubers. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, Evgeniya potato is recommended for cultivation in Central and North Caucasus regions of Russia.
