EVGENIYA

The potato variety Evgeniya is a medium-early table variety of Russian selection, intended for fresh consumption as well as for processing into potato products. The plant is characterized by medium to high height, intermediate type, and semi-upright form. Leaves are medium-sized with strong wavy edges and green color, while the flower is large and red-purple. Tubers are oval-shaped with small eyes, smooth red skin, and creamy flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 79 to 161 grams, and starch content is between 16.3–21.4%, ensuring good taste and versatility in cooking, including baking, boiling, and making mash.

The yield of the Evgeniya variety ranges from 158 to 262 centners per hectare, with maximum values reaching 349 centners, comparable to standard varieties. Marketability of tubers is high — from 79 to 95%, and storability reaches 92%, ensuring long-term storage without significant quality loss. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 6 to 10. The variety is resistant to potato cancer pathogen, however, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately susceptible to late blight on both foliage and tubers.

The potato Evgeniya is recommended for cultivation in the Central and North Caucasus regions of Russia using standard agronomy practices. Due to its characteristics and resistance to several diseases, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers and potato producers aiming to achieve high-quality yields with good consumer properties.
