Description Antonina
Potato variety Antonina is an early-maturing table variety of Russian selection, intended for cultivation in the West Siberian region. The plant is tall, semi-upright, with medium to large green leaves of moderate serration. Tubers are oval-shaped with yellow slightly rough skin and light-yellow flesh, weighing from 104 to 153 grams. Starch content in tubers ranges from 15.9% to 19.4%, ensuring good taste and versatility in culinary use. The variety is characterized by high yield — from 210 to 300 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 426 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the standards of other varieties. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 6 to 10. Antonina has high marketability (80-94%) and excellent storability — up to 95%, allowing long-term storage without loss of quality. The potato is suitable for boiling, making mashed potatoes, baking, as well as for deep freezing and processing into potato products. The variety is resistant to potato late blight, but susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and moderately susceptible to phytophthora on both foliage and tubers. The potato is low-maintenance and well-adapted to Siberian conditions. For planting, open ground is recommended, sown in May, with an optimal planting scheme of 60x35 cm and a sowing depth of 8-10 cm. Early maturity allows the first harvest to be taken as early as 45 days after emergence, with a full vegetation period of 60-70 days.
