Description TARASOV
The potato variety Tarasov is a medium-maturing table variety of Russian selection, intended for cultivation in the Ural region. The plant has an intermediate type with a semi-erect form, medium-sized green leaves with wavy edges. The skin of the tubers is red, the flesh is cream-colored, and the tubers are oval-round with medium-depth eyes. The weight of marketable tubers varies from 90 to 125 grams, and the starch content ranges from 11.6% to 17.5%.

The variety is characterized by good market yield, averaging 186-200 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 252 centners under the best regional standards. The tuber marketability reaches 80-92%, and storability is 95%, ensuring long-term storage without significant quality loss. The taste qualities of the potato are good, and the flesh does not darken when boiled, making the variety versatile for various preparation methods, including frying and making mashed potatoes.

Tarasov is resistant to potato cancer pathogen, enhancing its reliability in agronomic terms. However, the variety is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and late blight, requiring appropriate protective measures during cultivation. The number of tubers per plant is 6-8, and the maturation period lasts 90-110 days.
