The «Tarasov» potato variety is a mid-season table potato that demonstrates high technological stability in the field. The growing season lasts 95–105 days, allowing for reliable yields even in short summer conditions.

Tuber Morphology and Biochemical Composition

Tarasov tubers have a commercial weight of 50–130 grams, an optimal standard for retail and culinary use. The skin is intense red, while the flesh has a cream-colored hue. A key technical feature is the medium depth of the eyes, which significantly simplifies the industrial peeling process and minimizes processing waste.

The starch content ranges from 11% to 17%, classifying this potato as a versatile product. This range allows the tubers to maintain their structure during boiling while remaining suitable for frying, ensuring a golden, appetizing crust.

Phytopathological Protection

The variety's defense strategy relies on genetic resistance to major threats:

• Potato Wart: The variety is fully resistant to the pathogen Synchytrium endobioticum, eliminating the risk of crop loss in infested soils.
• Late Blight: Strong field resistance to late blight reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, lowering both the chemical burden on the soil and overall production costs.
