The Yubilar pea variety is a mid-season cultivated pea with a vegetation period ranging from 68 to 108 days, depending on the growing region. It was developed through individual selection from a hybrid combination and has undergone state variety trials in various regions of Russia, including the Central, Volga-Vyatsk, Northwestern, and Middle-Volga regions. Plants reach a height of 50 to 110 cm, have white flowers, and round seeds with yellow cotyledons. Pods of the Yubilar variety can be straight or slightly curved with a blunt top, and the seed scar is covered by a remnant of the funiculus or is light.
Yubilar is distinguished by its high yield, which in various regions exceeds that of standard varieties by several hundredweight per hectare, reaching a maximum of 51.8 c/ha. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 155 to 222 g, which allows for a reduced sowing rate. The variety is moderately resistant to shattering and lodging, with moderate drought tolerance. Regarding disease resistance, Yubilar is moderately resistant to ascohitosis but susceptible to root rots, which requires attention in agronomic techniques.
Peas of the Yubilar variety are valued for their good taste qualities and high protein content, reaching 22-27.9%, making them attractive for food use. Thanks to its characteristics, the variety is recommended for cultivation in various areas of the Central, Northwestern, Volga-Vyatsk, and Middle-Volga regions of Russia, including Kaluga, Moscow, Smolensk, Penza, Samara, Kostroma, Kirov regions, and the Perm Krai. This variety is suitable for obtaining a quality crop with good technological grain suitability.
