OMSK 9 — medium-maturing pea variety (Pisum sativum L.) with a semi-leafless plant type, reaching a height of 75 to 150 cm. The plants are characterized by high productivity both in terms of grain and green mass. The number of seeds per pod varies from 3 to 5, and the mass of 1000 seeds is 160-210 g. The grain of the variety is yellow-pink, smooth and matte, ensuring high quality of the final product.
The variety is distinguished by its drought resistance, lodging and shattering resistance, which contributes to a stable yield in various climatic conditions. Maximum grain yield reaches 60.3 c/ha, and dry matter — up to 80.5 c/ha. Average grain yield is about 18.3 c/ha, and dry matter — 38.7 c/ha. Grain output reaches 88.3%, and protein content in the grain varies from 21.2% to 28.2%, making the variety a valuable source of protein.
OMSK 9 has moderate resistance to ascochitis, but is susceptible to root rots and some pod and seed diseases. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including West Siberia, Volga-Vyatka, Central Black Earth, and North Caucasus.
