Description
The ZARYANKA pea variety is a mid-late fodder field pea (Pisum sativum L.) with a vegetation period from sowing to harvesting green mass of 41-69 days and to harvesting seeds — 76-106 days. Plants reach a height of 60-110 cm and are characterized by medium resistance to lodging, shattering, and drought, which corresponds to the level of standard varieties. Seeds are angular, greenish-brown with purple spotting and indentations on the surface, with the mass of 1000 seeds varying from 214 to 316 g. The variety belongs to the neerlandicum type and ripens approximately 3-4 days later than the Trudzenik variety.
The stem is ordinary, leaves are ovate-lanceolate, and the inflorescence is represented by a two-color raceme. Flowers have light bluish-lilac wings and dark red-purple sails. Pods are straight with an acute apex, containing 3-4 seeds. Maximum dry matter yield reaches 175.5 c/ha. However, the variety has high susceptibility to ascochytosis and root rots, and is also damaged by codling moths, which can lead to a loss of up to 20% of seeds.
ZARYANKA is intended for cultivation in central and Far Eastern regions, where it demonstrates stable yields of green mass and seeds. Due to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for fodder use and ensures a reliable yield when agricultural technical requirements are met. Despite susceptibility to some diseases, the variety maintains good productivity and quality indicators.
