It is characterized by a high number of nodes before the first fertile node, well-developed leaf sheaths, and low to medium levels of mottling. The maximum number of flowers per node reaches two, and the pods have very slight curvature with blunt tips. Seeds are irregularly shaped, with green or yellow cotyledons and light hilum. The 1000-seed weight ranges from 214 to 278 grams, which is approximately 42 grams higher than standard varieties. Poseidon exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, contributing to stable yields. Average yields are 18.6 centners per hectare in the Volga-Vyatka region and 21.0 centners per hectare in the Central region. Protein content in the grain ranges from 22.1% to 26.1%, making this variety valuable for quality and technological properties. The culinary properties of this pea are also rated as excellent, expanding its application in food industry and home cooking. The variety has moderate drought tolerance and moderate resistance to leaf ascochitosis, but is susceptible to ascochitosis on pods and seeds, as well as highly susceptible to root rots. These characteristics require attention when selecting cultivation conditions and implementing protective measures.
