HOLIK

HOLIK® is a medium-maturity fodder variety of common pea, intended for cultivation in agricultural conditions, particularly in the West Siberian region, including the Novosibirsk region. The variety's vegetative period is 72 to 87 days, and the time from germination to harvesting for green mass is 37-59 days. Plants reach a height of 72 to 120 cm, which ensures ease of harvesting and good productivity. The variety matures about a week earlier than the Novosibir variety, allowing for optimized harvesting times and increased production efficiency.

HOLIK® is distinguished by high yield and excellent nutritional characteristics. The average yield of dry matter in the region is 42.2 c/ha, and of grains is 18.1 c/ha, while in the Novosibirsk region, the grain yield reached 21.9 c/ha, which is 8.2 c/ha higher than the standard. The maximum yields of dry matter and grain were recorded in the Kemerovo region and amounted to 128.6 c/ha and 32.5 c/ha, respectively. Seeds of the variety are spherical with yellow cotyledons and a light hilum; the weight of 1000 seeds ranges from 150 to 199 g. Protein content in grains reaches about 22%, making the variety a valuable source of protein for feeding animals and human nutrition.

Plants of the HOLIK® variety have medium resistance to lodging and drought, as well as increased resistance to shattering compared to other varieties. Leaves consist of three pairs of entire-edged leaflets of large size, flowers are white, and pods are straight or slightly curved with a blunt tip. Despite high agronomic indicators, the variety is susceptible to ascochitis and root rot, which requires adherence to agronomic measures to prevent diseases. In general, HOLIK® is a reliable and productive pea variety recommended for cultivation in West Siberia.
