Variety distinguishing features. Variety — contecstum (linked), subvariety — ecaducum.
Seedless (hairy) type, semi-dwarf. Stem usually upright, plant height 50–70 cm, internodes to the first inflorescence — 11–13. Flowers white, two per pedicel, pods of the splitting type, medium-sized, slightly curved, blunt apex. Pods well-formed, average seed number per pod 5–6, maximum — 7. Seeds rose-colored, flattened-round, smooth surface, with resistance to shattering.
Agronomic characteristics. Grain use variety, medium-early. Vegetation period duration 71–75 days. 1000-seed mass 270–280 g. Protein content in seeds 22–23%. Resistant to lodging and seed shattering, suitable for direct combine harvesting. Seeds of this variety have high taste qualities.
Maximum yield — 5.92 t/ha — achieved in 2005 at the Rovno Regional Center for Crop Production in Rovno Oblast. Under steppe Crimea conditions during 2007–2010, average yield of the variety was 2.08 t/ha, maximum yield — 3.27 t/ha in 2010. In 2008 at Volnyansk DSSZ in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, yield of the variety Tsarevich was 3.24 t/ha. In 2009 at DPAG "Alexandrovskoe" in Trostyanetsky Raion, Vinnytsia Oblast, yield was 4.36 t/ha. In the same 2009, at OO "Mayak" in Belogorsky Raion, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, yield was 3.00 t/ha.
