DMC Amigo

DMC Amigo — a mid-season hybrid of sweet corn with FAO 340, developed by MAIS. This hybrid is ideally suited for cultivation in southern and central regions of Ukraine due to its high drought and heat tolerance. The vegetation period varies depending on the region: 123 days in Polissia, 118 days in forest-steppe, and 114 days in steppe. Potential yield reaches 18 tons per hectare in Polissia, 17.5 tons in forest-steppe, and 15.5 tons in steppe, ensuring a stable and high yield under various climatic conditions.

DMC Amigo plants reach a height of about 240 cm, with ear attachment height of 95 cm. Each ear develops 18 to 20 rows of kernels. The hybrid has a medium maturity type with a live leaf and medium grain drying speed. Additionally, DMC Amigo has medium cold tolerance and high resistance to lodging, which helps preserve yield and facilitates harvesting.

One of the key advantages of DMC Amigo is its high resistance to major corn diseases such as gray and gray leaf spot, as well as pests including corn borer. This reduces the need for chemical protection and makes the hybrid more environmentally friendly and economically beneficial for farmers. Thanks to its adaptability and resistance to adverse conditions, DMC Amigo is a universal choice for various agroclimatic zones in Ukraine.
