Description BAGU
The BAGU pea variety is a medium-early leafless variety developed by German breeders of the company KWS SAAT SE. The vegetative period ranges from 67 to 85 days, allowing for effective use in various climatic conditions. The plants are of medium height, ranging from 55 to 84 cm, with an optimal pod placement that facilitates harvesting and improves its quality. The grain color is yellow, the 1000-grain mass varies from 175 to 230 grams, and the protein content in the grain ranges from 23.3-24.8%, making this variety valuable for the food industry and feed production.

The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, which ensures high-quality mechanized harvesting and reduces crop losses. It is plastic to seeding rates, is not suppressed by thickening, and is stable over years, making it easy to grow in various agrotechnical conditions. The recommended seed burial depth is 4-5 cm, and the seeding rate is from 0.8 to 1 million seeds per hectare. The variety has drought resistance at the level of 7 points and disease resistance at the level of 8 points, but is susceptible to ascochitis and root rots.

BAGU is recommended for cultivation in the regions of the North Caucasus and Western Siberian Federal Districts, as well as in some regions of Kazakhstan, such as the Aktobe, Kostanay, and North Kazakhstan regions. Average yields in these regions reach 20-23.5 centners per hectare, with a maximum potential yield of up to 55 centners per hectare. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, the BAGU variety is one of the leading pea varieties of the company KWS and is popular in Europe and other regions.
