Omriyane — a medium-maturing corn variety used for both grain and fodder purposes. The vegetation period ranges from 80 to 98 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant reaches a height of 95–115 cm, has a compact ear of approximately 33 cm length with 6 nodes and 19 primary branches. The grain is cream-colored, round, with a 1000-grain weight of approximately 8.0–8.3 g, a husk content of 13–14%, and a grain uniformity of 85%.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to lodging, shattering, drought, and diseases, particularly it is tolerant to infection by smut and other fungal diseases, including 8 races of smut. Omriyane has good resistance to lodging and diseases, ensuring stable yields of 30–55 c/ha (4.5–5.5 t/ha). Protein content in the grain ranges from 11.7% to 14%, and starch content is approximately 65%. After milling, the flour yield is 78–82%.
Recommended growing zone — forest-steppe and Polissia, where the variety is well-adapted. For sowing one hectare, 4.0–4.5 million seeds are required. Optimal preceding crops in crop rotation are perennial grasses and leguminous crops, which do not share common diseases and ensure weed-free areas. Omriyane is characterized by high-quality parameters and is a valuable variety registered by NAAN Ukraine in 2005.
