Millet Olitán

Stable millet yield under stress conditions

The «Olitan» millet variety, developed by breeders at the Veselopodilskyi Research Station, is designed for farms where crop resistance to pathogens and pests is critical. Agrarians who aim to minimize fungicide applications without sacrificing grain quality choose this variety for its reliability and field performance.

Disease and pest protection

The key advantage of «Olitan» is its inherent immunity. In crop rotations with high risks of bacteriosis and citrus melanosis, this variety shows a consistently low rate of vegetative mass infection. Its high resistance to the European corn borer allows for a reduction in insecticide use, simplifying eco-friendly farming practices.

Practical application guide

• Crop rotation optimization: This variety fits perfectly into intensive growing schemes where millet acts as a reliable insurance crop.
• Risk management: Using «Olitan» is justified in regions with challenging phytosanitary conditions, where other millet varieties would require multiple chemical interventions.
• Harvesting efficiency: The crop is characterized by uniform ripening, which facilitates harvesting operations and minimizes losses during direct combining.

By choosing this variety, farmers secure predictable results even with moderate agricultural practices. Thanks to its genetic background, «Olitan» efficiently utilizes natural soil fertility and remains robust under unstable climatic conditions.
