Millet Polto

The Heritage of Breeding: Polto Millet

The Polto millet variety is the result of focused research by the Veselopodilskyi Research Station (Institute of Cereal Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine). This variety was developed to meet the needs of the Ukrainian agricultural sector, providing farmers with a reliable solution for producing high-quality grain. Its development marks a significant step in adapting cereal crops to the challenging climatic conditions of Ukraine, where resilience and drought tolerance are of paramount importance.

Agronomic Profile

Polto is a classic variety chosen by agricultural enterprises aiming for consistent yields without the need for excessive intensive care. Within the professional community, it is recognized for its high stem uniformity, which significantly simplifies harvesting. The variety demonstrates strong resistance to lodging and grain shedding, which is critical during the unpredictable weather conditions often encountered in the second half of the summer season.

Market Positioning

Today, this variety remains highly relevant for producers who value domestic breeding traditions and predictable results. Thanks to its stable genetics, Polto successfully competes in the market, performing well across various climatic zones. It is widely used to fulfill domestic food demand, where grain quality and processing properties are the determining factors. Choosing Polto is an investment in stability and proven agronomic performance.
