Description Kyivskoe 96 / Kyivs'ke 96
Kyivskoe 96 — an early-maturing sorghum variety, intended for cultivation as grain and for feed purposes. The maturity period is 67–74 days, allowing its use in various agronomic schemes, including intercropping and post-harvest plantings. The variety can also serve as an excellent predecessor for winter crops, expanding its application in crop rotation. The recommended cultivation zone is the Forest Steppe and Polissya, where the variety exhibits its best qualities.

Plants reach a height of 116–133 cm, with compact and elongated panicles. The grain is large, red, round, with a 1000-grain weight of 8.0–8.5 g. The grain's hull content is about 17%, with a milling yield of 76–78%. The grain contains 14% protein, making the variety valuable for both food and feed purposes. Kyivskoe 96 is characterized by resistance to lodging, shattering, and infection by eight strains of anthracnose and melanosis, ensuring stable yields and high product quality.

The variety was registered in 1999 and recommended by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, Kyivskoe 96 is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality sorghum yields in forest-steppe conditions.
