Description KULUNDINSKOE
Kulundinskoe is a variety of cultivated millet (Panicum miliaceum L.), developed by the Siberian Federal Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Federal Altai Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology. The variety is included in the State Register for the Eastern Siberian region and recommended for cultivation in the South Forest-Steppe zone of the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Kulundinskoe belongs to the sanguineum subtype, characterized by the absence of anthocyanin pigmentation in the glume, a compressed panicle with moderately drooping branches pressed against the main axis. The grain is round, red in color, with a 1000-grain mass varying from 6 to 9 grams. Plant height ranges from 63 to 117 cm, and the vegetative period is from 71 to 104 days, making the variety mid-season.

The variety demonstrates high yield and resistance to unfavorable conditions. Average grain yield in the region reaches 12.6 c/ha, while in the South Forest-Steppe zone of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, yield can reach 23.1 c/ha, which is 2.9 c/ha higher than the standard Abakanskoe feed. The maximum yield recorded in the Irkutsk Oblast was 47.3 c/ha. Kulundinskoe is distinguished by drought resistance and lodging resistance, and is weakly affected by ergot, although it requires seed treatment due to high susceptibility to ergot.

The technological and culinary qualities of the variety are good, and the protein content in the grain reaches 11%, making it valuable in terms of quality. The main advantage of Kulundinskoe is high productivity under insufficient moisture conditions and disease resistance, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield. Due to these characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in regions with variable climatic conditions and limited water supply.
