The pea variety Kleopatra is a yellow-seeded, leafless (upright) type plant, characterized by high yield and early flowering. This mid-season variety exhibits resistance to shattering and is capable of forming a large number of pods with protein content in the seeds reaching 22.3–22.5%. Early flowering contributes to effective yield formation, while the short plant height facilitates care and harvesting.
Kleopatra demonstrates good stress tolerance, particularly under drought conditions in early summer, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various regions, including the Central Chernozem and Kursk regions. The variety is susceptible to root rot but shows moderate resistance to rust and low resistance to ascochytosis. Insecticides against pests such as pea aphid, aphids, and bean pod borer are recommended during the bud and early flowering stages.
Cultivation technology includes sowing at a depth of 4–6 cm and a density of 90–130 germinating seeds per square meter. Nitrogen fertilizers are not required, simplifying agronomy and reducing costs. Harvesting is conducted when seed moisture content is 16–19% and the seed coat is light brown; it is recommended to reduce the drum rotation speed of the combine to 450–500 rpm to preserve seed quality. Crop rotation with an interval of at least 6 years is recommended to maintain soil fertility and crop health.
