Lupine «Yarylo» is a silage-grain variety created through intraspecific hybridization and selected multiple times for individual selection against fusarium disease. It is characterized by early maturation: the vegetative period is 102 days, which allows its use both as a green fertilizer and for grain production.
The variety demonstrates high yield: average seed output – about 2.3–2.5 t/ha, and green mass – 52–57 t/ha. Internal quality indicators are also impressive: protein content in seeds reaches 41.2 %, and alkaloid levels are limited to 0.02 % (mass of 1000 grains – 126 g). These parameters make «Yarylo» attractive both for feed mixture production and use as a biological fertilizer.
The variety is distinguished by resistance to fusarium: against an infectious background, the damage is only 4.1 %. Moreover, it withstands conditions of the middle and temperate zones well, shows high drought resistance and requires moderate water supply with good drainage. Thanks to its ability to fix nitrogen, «Yarylo» contributes to soil fertility improvement and can be integrated into comprehensive sustainable agriculture programs.
