Lupine polyanthus is a perennial plant growing 80 to 100 cm tall with beautiful palmate leaves. The flowers are gathered into a dense, tall spike-like inflorescence up to 75 cm long, colored in various shades: from snow-white to dark purple.
Flowering occurs twice a year – first in June, then again in August–September. If the inflorescences are cut off after the first flowering, the plant can produce a second, more intense and prolonged blooming. Thanks to bright and durable buds, lupine is perfect for both single plantings and group compositions.
Lupine is widely used in decorative greening of garden beds and flower beds. It prefers sunny places with good soil moisture but does not tolerate waterlogging. The plant is also valued for the ability to collect live buds for floral compositions, which makes it often used in bouquets and as a decorative element for holidays.
